Project Overview

This 9099m2 two-stage commercial development for Upper Clutha Transport includes offices, workshops, apartments and warehouses. Situated on a large site in Luggate, Central Otago, this development was designed in-house by Calder Group who were involved from Early Contractor Involvement through to resource and building consent and construction.  

This development showcases how integration of Calder’s state-of-the-art structural steel and precast concrete panel capabilities, keeps projects on time and in budget. 

The first stage of a 4630m2 fertiliser and bulk storage building has been completed.

Project Stats

Total Floor Area – 9099m2.  

The first stage was the construction of a 4630m2 fertiliser and bulk storage building at the rear of the site. The second stage comprising of six apartments, with four one-bedroom apartments on the ground floor and two spacious two-bedroom apartments with concrete balconies on the first floor.  

The large 500m2 open plan office space, 1140m2 freight and bulk storage building, 1520m2 covered loading canopy, 1020m2 vehicle maintenance workshop with two vehicle pits and a 360m2 standalone tyre storage shed and windscreen repair building.

Project Team

The Calder team is made up of 30 specialists – including architectural technicians and detailers, steel and precast specialists, engineers, carpenters and builders. 


Precast concrete panels, structural steel, reinforcing, roller doors, concrete rib and infills.
