A bespoke design and build for Stuart Timber Co.

Our team were engaged by Stuart Timber Co to provide architectural plans, project management, precast panels, structural steel for the construction of their new purpose built boiler shed. The 300m2 boiler shed and adjacent fuel bin was designed and constructed to accommodate their new state of the art biomass boiler, providing a sustainable solution to the traditional methods of coal for the drying of their timber.

The construction of this building was completed in two stages, the structural shell of the shed was completed first with the erection of the custom precast panels and structural steel followed by the delicate and strategic placement of the boiler and flue by crane. The second and final stage consisted of the fitting off of the roofing and wall iron.

We were proud to partner with Stuart Timber Co on a project that was significant milestone for the production and future growth of their business. Like us, Stuart Timber Co are a proudly owned and operated Tapanui business with over 40 years of supporting the local construction industry.

Proof of the strong local connection is the structural steel for this project was manufactured and fabricated a short 3 kilometre across town at our structural steel plant – it doesn’t get more local than that!
